GTM Engineer

Remote (US-Based) – SF Bay Area Preferred

About the Role

We are looking for an engineer to build the systems that take our product to market. You will own everything between a potential customer and a closed, activated account. You will work directly with the team to turn growth ideas into shipped experiments in days, not quarters.

Our Core Engineering Philosophy: We highly value simple solutions to complex problems. We do not build architecture astronauts or over-engineered abstractions. We want clean, minimal code that is easy to reason about. In this role, speed of learning matters most: ship the smallest version that tests the idea, measure it, and invest in hardening only what proves its value. If you take pride in moving fast without leaving a mess behind, you will fit right in.

What You Will Do

  • Perform A/B Tests Quickly: Keep page performance sharp, and make the path from first visit to first generated post as short as possible.

  • Build Programmatic SEO & Content Engines: Create systems that generate high-quality, indexable pages at scale, including templates, examples, and industry and use-case pages backed by real product output.

  • Dogfood Coco for Our Own Marketing: Use our own product to run our Instagram and LinkedIn presence, and build the lightweight tooling that lets the team publish, schedule, and measure content with minimal manual effort.

  • Engineer Outbound & Prospecting Systems: Build simple tools that identify target D2C brands and B2B companies, research their existing social presence, and generate personalized outreach that shows them what Coco would make for them.

  • Build GTM Agents & Automations: Wire up agents that connect our tools and data through APIs and MCP servers, so account research, enrichment, CRM updates, and follow-ups run with minimal human effort. Use off-the-shelf agent tools where they work and build custom only where they don’t.

  • Make Coco Available Where Customers Work: Build and maintain the integrations, MCP servers, and partner connections that let Coco plug into the platforms, tools, and AI assistants our customers already use, turning each integration into a new distribution channel.

  • Own the CRM & Sales Tooling: Set up and maintain our CRM as a clean system of record. Build integrations and automations that route leads, sync product signups and usage, and remove manual data entry from the sales process.

  • Build Lifecycle & Activation Messaging: Design onboarding, nurture, and re-engagement flows triggered by real product behavior. Make sure new users hit their first “wow” moment and that dormant accounts get a reason to come back.

  • Instrument the Funnel & Attribution: Own product analytics and event tracking across the site and app. Build clear dashboards that answer where customers come from, what converts, and what drives retention.

  • Run a High-Velocity Experiment Loop: Launch many small experiments, kill the losers quickly, and double down on the winners. Keep code simple and readable so anything can be changed, scaled up, or removed in an afternoon.

What We Look For (Technical Depth)

  • 3–5 Years Shipping Product-Facing Software: You have built websites, growth features, or internal tools at a fast-moving startup, ideally in a role close to marketing, sales, or growth.

  • Bias for Speed & Simplicity: A track record of shipping quickly and iterating based on results. You know when a scrappy script or off-the-shelf tool is the right answer, and when something has earned the time to be done properly.

  • Strong Web Fundamentals: Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Next.js/React), web performance, technical SEO, and building pages that load fast and convert well.

  • GTM Stack Fluency: Experience working with CRMs (e.g., HubSpot), email and lifecycle platforms, product analytics tools, and the APIs and webhooks that connect them.

  • Agents & Integrations in Practice: Hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, tool calling, and MCP servers, and connecting third-party services through APIs, webhooks, and OAuth. You have used agents to automate real GTM work like research, personalization, and content generation, you understand how they fail in the real world, and you know how to keep their output accurate and on-brand.

  • Analytical Rigor: Comfortable with SQL and experiment design. You can set up a clean test, read the results honestly, and kill ideas that don’t work.

  • Commercial Curiosity: You understand funnels, ICPs, and pipeline metrics well enough to have opinions, and you enjoy talking to customers to figure out what is actually worth building.
